Building on the success of our Pro Sledges and our unique interchangeable ProCustoms , we’ve developed a new sledge hammer design that introduces true versatility with an interchangeable metal striking head—effectively giving you two tools in one.
Use the polyurethane face when possible to reduce noise, eliminate sparking, and prevent metal fragmentation. When a metal strike is required, simply flip the hammer and choose from three interchangeable options: C360 brass, 4340 soft steel, or 4340 hardened steel—allowing you to match the tool to the job without compromise.
While replaceable-face hammers exist on the market, like this one from Halder, they are typically light-duty and not designed for sledge applications. Titan and this one from Nupla exist but they are very light duty plastic hammers.
Crescent Tool came out this year with a half decent looking sledgehammer however it's not a dead blow and it only comes in a steel face version so you are going to get all the harmful noise, sparking, and potential projectiles.
Our replaceable head system is the result of years of design and testing. The goal was simple: create a head durable enough for extreme use, yet easily replaceable when worn. At the same time, we maintained our fully sealed dead blow construction—ensuring zero risk of internal shot leakage.
The system features an anti-rotation socket and threaded locking pins that securely retain the head under heavy use while still allowing for straightforward replacement. To remove or change the head, simply take off the cover plates and use a wrench to loosen the locking nuts.
Available head options include C360 brass, 4340 steel at 30 HRC (soft), and 4340 steel at 60 HRC (hardened), giving you maximum flexibility across a wide range of applications.
